March Madness has arrived, and we are ready for the fight to the Final Four. I am looking forward to the Cinderella stories that come out of the annual NCAA College Basketball Tournament. I love to watch the teams that make it in by a fluke and then go on to beat the bigger schools. We will no doubt see surprises this year from potential Cinderella teams like Delaware, Mercer and North Dakota State.
Surprises may be fun in sports, but they aren’t usually great in business, and could mean your organization’s Cinderella moment may end at midnight. To avoid unpleasant surprises, you need to stay well informed, especially within your business, and staying well informed internally can be difficult, but office automation and a document management system can help you achieve a fairytale run.
Office automation involves using technology to execute office operations and minimize mundane clerical tasks. A great system helps produce outgoing documents, store and retrieve documents, transmit messages, and manage schedules. This can improve productivity, reduce storage space, speed retrieval, and augment employee access to data.
Document management (DM) is a key aspect of office automation. DM systems structure the process of modifying and managing documents. When documents are not easily accessible, it frequently causes communication problems within an office. A poor DM system can mean loss of time and lack of knowledge, leading to unpleasant surprises. With a well-integrated DM system, your company will have a process for keeping documents, an easily accessible system, and a more knowledgeable staff.
I love a good Cinderella story, so if you ever think your team might turn into a pumpkin, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will find the right technology to help make your operations a slam dunk.
